Acting Director General of public joint stock company “Ukrposhta”
Born and raised in Ukraine.
I graduated with honors from Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Secondary School No. 1. While still at school, I mastered my very first occupation of a car mechanic.
In 1992 I entered the Odesa State Economic University, International Marketing Department, and studied there for three years. Then I continued my studies at Pace University in the United States and graduated from it with honors, with a major in Auditing and a minor in Law. I was admitted to the Beta Gamma Sigma academic honor society.
Later I graduated from George Washington University Law School and obtained an MBA degree with honors (Top 5%) from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business.
My first job was unloading boxes at a warehouse. The next one was selling ice-cream: I played in a football team, so my teammates and I organized a business of selling ice-cream on one of the beaches in Odesa Region.
Later my friend and I opened a bar, and this business taught me to sleep just a few hours a day, as we worked from 10 am to 6 am seven days a week.
After moving to the US, I had to pay for everything myself, so I worked as a waiter and a parking valet, often combining several jobs with my studies.
After the graduation I started working in my degree field, as a tax specialist. One of the first companies I worked for was Cantor Fitzgerald, located on the 101st floor of one of the World Trade Centre buildings. After that I worked for KPMG, Citibank, a number of law firms.
In 2005 I received an offer from Boston Consulting Group in the CIS in the field of management consulting in Ukraine and Russia. From 2008 to 2010 I was Mergers and Acquisitions Director at Promsvyazbank International Bank, being at the same time Chairman of the Board of three other banks. In 2010–2011 I managed the merger and acquisition of Dongorbank by FUIB.
After that I returned to Boston Consulting Group as Director, working on the development strategy, major transactions in the oil and energy sectors, analytical strategies. Later, in 2014, I returned to FUIB to help with its merger with Renaissance Capital bank. In 2015 I worked at KPMG in New York.
In April 2016 I was appointed Director General of Ukrposhta.
The most valuable experience for me is the combination of strategic consulting and working inside corporations, which lets me see the situation as a whole and make my knowledge practical. My strong point is having three university degrees, in Accounting, Law and Business, which help me to better comprehend the situation, as well as the combination of international expertise and experience of working in Ukraine.
