Ukrposhta has agreed on cooperation with a Chinese trading giant JD: JOYBUY.com

The Ukrainian national postal operator Ukrposhta has launched JD-Ukrposhta, a channel of express delivery of goods from China. Delivery of goods through the new channel JD-UKRPOSHTA will take 14 days on average, compared to the standard delivery term of up to 45 days. This Premium-class delivery channel will be additional to the existing postal channel. For the first time UKRPOSHTA offers end-to-end tracing for inbound shipments from China via JD-UKRPOSHTA premium channel. Customs clearance of goods delivered to Ukraine through JD-UKRPOSHTA will be performed in express model.
 
On-line shopping will now be more accessible and Ukrainian customers will have the opportunity to shop at JD’s world-popular trading platform, joybuy.com”, said Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, First Deputy Director General for Operations at Ukrposhta.
 
Google is also developing its cooperation with JD. The on-line search giant intends to invest $550 million in the development and promotion of this trading platform and, in addition to that, JD will join Google Shopping.
 
JD.com Group, comprising joybuy.com, was founded on June 18, 1998 in China. It ranks third in the world by online shopping turnover: in 2017 it processed transactions for $56 billion. It is the second online marketplace in China by the scope of transactions. JD.com offers a wide range of household appliances, mobile and electronic devices, computers and ІТ items.
 
Ukrposhta is the postal services monopolist in Ukraine and is subordinate to the Ministry of Infrastructure. Besides postal services, the company provides financial services, carries out trading and commercial activities. The network of the company consists of 11.5 thousand offices throughout Ukraine, with 76 thousand employees, 33 thousand of which are postmen and 13 thousand – operators.
